Meet Tech Support

Tech Support is special department of Ellis University. We handle basic tech support questions. If you're not sure who you need to talk to, we can point you in the right direction.

COMPUTER AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to be successful at Ellis University, there are some basic technical requirements we have for students:

BASIC TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS ARE:

    Computer Access
  • Home computer or reliable access to a computer (work, library, etc.) The ability/authority to allow video and screen-sharing connections to the computer.
    Internet Connection
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection.
    Installed RAM
  • Installed RAM 512 MB (1 GB or stronger highly recommended)
    Operating System
  • Windows XP (or higher) or Mac* OS X or higher)
    Display
  • - 1024x768 pixels or higher, thousands of colors or higher recommended
    Sound
  • Sound card and headphones or working speakers connected to the computer
    Webcam
  • Web cam with 640x480 video pixel resolution or higher. Microphone A working microphone connected to the computer. We recommend a web cam that has a built in microphone.
    Printer Recommended
    CD-ROM Required
  • some books come with a CD-Rom needed for class work

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or 8.0, Firefox 3
    Web Browser For Mac
  • Safari 4 or later, Firefox 3
    Plug-Ins
  • Adobe Flash 9 or later, Adobe, Shockwave 8.51 or later, and Apple QuickTime 4.1 or later (Adobe Reader recommended) Links to download plug-ins are located in the Browser Check on your dashboard.
    Software for Windows
  • Microsoft Office Pro 97, 2000, 2002, 2003, or 2007
    Software for Mac
  • OS X, Microsoft Office 2004

You may also use an office compatible suite with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint file formats. Certain courses may require additional software.

*Not all elements of all courses are accessible with Apple hardware and software.

We've assembled a directory of who to call to help students get the information they need faster from the right department. If you have changes to your name, address of social security number, please fill out the Student Information Change Authorization Form and mail or fax in the completed form.
